Job Description & Requirements Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (Pediatric ED)
Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
Shift: Night Shift | 3×12-Hour Shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
Schedule: Every other weekend and some holidays required
We are seeking experienced Night Shift Registered Nurses for a Pediatric Emergency Department . Candidates must have the majority of their recent experience in a Pediatric ED setting . Adult ED experience is a plus; however, candidates with experience only in combined Adult/Pediatric EDs will not be considered.
Required Experience & SkillsMinimum 2 years of recent (within the past 2 years) Pediatric Emergency Department experience
\tStrong triage skills with formal triage training
\tExperience in Level I or Level II Trauma Centers preferred
\tAbility to function independently with minimal orientation in a high-acuity setting
\tExcellent assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills
\tStrong interpersonal and communication skills
\tExperience with EPIC Electronic Medical Records
\tPrior experience in large acute-care hospitals or trauma centers
\tCurrent New York State RN License
\tBLS certification (must be current or able to recertify)
\tTravelers must have experience in hospitals of equal or greater size and/or trauma centers
\tPediatric ED experience is mandatory for consideration
\tMust have no history of professional license or certification suspension or investigation
\tMust not have been named as a defendant in a professional liability claim
\tVerification of legal right to work in the United States
\tSuccessful completion of pre-employment health clearance
\tSubject to drug screening and criminal background check
\tDeliver safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing care in a high-acuity Pediatric ED
\tPerform comprehensive patient assessments and interventions appropriate to emergency care
\tManage patient care responsibilities with minimal supervision
\tCollaborate effectively with multidisciplinary emergency care teams
