Laerdal Labs is seeking a smart Software Engineer with strong foundational knowledge who is ready to take a step forward in their career. You will be working alongside a strong team of Software Engineers, QA Engineers and Product experts helping develop new applications to bolster our industry leading platform. As a member of the apps team, you'll be presented with a variety of challenges as you help develop new systems in medical education for users on mobile, desktop, or in-between. Our software platform is a unique mix of technologies as we firmly believe in using the best technology for the job. You'll be working with React Native, Electron, and other mobile-first/multi-platform technologies, in addition to our backend services, which include NodeJS, PostgreSQL, and the whole suite of cloud infrastructure. Our engineers typically "own" features they're working on and build them from top-to-bottom, which means a solid understanding of core Object Oriented Programing (OOP) design, MVC, asynchronous systems, and other architectural concepts is a must. We simply love providing a consumer level customer experience in healthcare, where all the complexities behind the scenes are just that: behind the scenes. What we are looking for: 1+ years of experience in software development (internships are acceptable) Non-complacent and inquisitive mindset. Love for coding and a good challenge. Like the freedom and responsibility of owning what you're working on. Good oral and written communication skills, and a desire to share knowledge and collaborate with others. Pluses: Experience with ReactJS, NodeJS, iOS and/or Android development, React Native, Python, AWS or similar cloud technologies, Git version control, automated testing, BS in Computer Science or relevant engineering discipline, and a shared hatred of JIRA (sorry product managers!).
