Are you an organized professional who is detail-oriented and passionate about ensuring the reliability of critical systems? Join us as a Junior Electrical Engineer in the Multi-Domain Solutions (MDS) division, where your expertise will greatly influence the design, analysis, and implementation of electrical power systems and infrastructures. In this exciting role, you'll work alongside senior engineers, contributing to vital projects related to the generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization of electrical power in mission-critical operations for government, commercial, and institutional facilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design and layout of efficient electrical power distribution systems, focusing on medium- and low-voltage implementations.
  • Conduct essential electrical system studies, including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and grounding analyses, using industry-standard tools like ETAP, SKM Power Tools, CYME, or PSCAD.
  • Support the creation and refinement of single-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, and technical specifications for electrical equipment.
  • Engage in field inspections, equipment testing, and commissioning activities to validate electrical system performance and ensure alignment with design specifications.
  • Evaluate the performance and selection of vital electrical components, such as transformers, switchgear, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and protective relays.
  • Assist in projects that involve SCADA systems, substation design, or renewable energy integration, as applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards, including NEC, IEEE, and NESC.
  • Utilize AutoCAD or Revit MEP to generate and modify design drawings accurately.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve project objectives and timelines.

Basic Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field with 4-8 years of relevant experience, OR a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field with 2-6 years of experience.
  • Foundational knowledge of engineering standards, theories, concepts, and techniques pertinent to electrical and electronic systems.
  • Experience with circuit design, testing, and troubleshooting for both analog and digital systems.
  • Familiarity with tools and techniques utilized in electrical system development, encompassing hardware design and electronic design.
  • Ability to work independently on moderately complex tasks while also contributing to larger project initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical information to diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Understanding of control/test equipment and electrical systems utilized in applications such as communications, radar, and computing.

Preferred Qualifications:

Hands-on experience in the following areas:

  • Analog Design - Expertise in designing and optimizing continuous signal-based circuits.
  • Digital Signal Processing (DSP) - Proficient in implementing filtering, analysis, and compression algorithms.
  • Electrical Construction - Experience in overseeing the safe installation of power and electrical systems in compliance with regulations.
  • Electronic Design - Ability to create efficient and reliable systems and components.
  • Hardware Design - Skilled in the development and validation of physical electronics.
  • Electrical Systems - Participation in power generation, transmission, or distribution projects.
  • Radio Frequency (RF) - Experience in designing and testing RF circuitry for wireless communications.
  • VHDL - Knowledge in designing and simulating digital electronic systems using hardware description languages.
  • Python - Application of programming skills to enhance test automation, data analysis, or embedded applications.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with a focus on analyzing and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Experience with product development from concept through implementation.
  • Project management experience or the ability to coordinate multiple technical tasks across various teams.

Pay Range:

Pay Range: $85,150.00 - $153,925.00
