Title: EHS manager

Reports to: Manufacturing Manager (or equivalent management)
Summary:
Collaborates with management in advance, towards implementing company safety and environmental policies to identify, eliminate and control hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or property damage. Recommends to management, policies to ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety requirements. Collaborates with management in advance, inspections of factory operations and physical conditions within the plant to identify and eliminate industrial hazards. Investigates accidents and prepares reports to management. With collaboration from management, organizes safety committees and directs programs, in advance, to educate workers in safety. It is important to understand that collaboration and coordination with management, often in advance, is an important aspect when performing these duties.
Typical Duties and responsibilities:
1) Investigates industrial accidents, injuries or occupational diseases to determine causes and
recommends preventive measures to management.
2) Reports &/or reviews incident reports, facilities inspections with management.
3) Develops and documents programs and processes, with collaboration with management, in
accordance with federal state and local regulations for safety in the workplace.
4) May recommend and write or revise plant safety rules, with collaboration with management.
5) With collaboration from management in advance, conducts and coordinates worker training in
areas such as safety laws, regulations and hazardous conditions and safety equipment.
6) Upon collaboration with management, converses with supervisors and employees to obtain
information about work environments and workplace incidents.
7) Provides technical recommendations to management on health risks to develop ways to
manager safety and health concerns.
8) With collaboration from management, evaluates adequacy of actions taken to correct safety
shortcomings or violations.
9) Ensures completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting (ie. 300 logs, etc.).
10) Maintains safety measurements and statistical data to report to management (DART, etc.)
11) Performs other related duties as assigned.
