Job Description

A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is sought to provide specialized services within an early childhood educational environment. This role focuses on supporting children ages 2-5, offering assessment, therapy, and collaboration designed to foster communication development and support individualized learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in young children.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Deliver direct therapy through individual, small group, or classroom-integrated sessions.
• Consult with educators, parents, and support staff to embed speech and language goals into daily classroom activities.
• Monitor, document, and maintain progress records in compliance with relevant federal, state, and local guidelines.
• Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility assessments, and transition planning.
• Support inclusive early intervention and preschool special education models.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current with best practices and legal requirements.

Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Valid state licensure and/or certification such as ASHA CCC-SLP or certificate of clinical competence eligibility; state-specific certification as required.
• Experience with preschool-aged children in early intervention or public school settings preferred.
• Strong understanding of child development, early literacy, play-based learning, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with diverse student populations.
• Familiarity with IDEA, Section 504, and special education eligibility procedures.

Job Type: Full academic year contract in an early childhood school setting.
