Job Description

In your role as Registered Dental Assistant, you will report to the Dental Clinic Manager. Your responsibilities
will include assisting the dental physician and the dental hygienist.

DUTIES
• Perform basic supportive dental procedures under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist
• Review dental records of patients with scheduled appointments
• Ensure patient examination rooms and laboratory areas are ready for daily activity
• Perform weekly cleaning and record quality checks on autoclave equipment and weekly spore testing
• Meet, greet, and seat patients in a courteous manner
• Record patients' chief complaint/reason for visit, medical problems, current medications, allergies, and blood
pressure.
• Take quality diagnostic radiographs as prescribed by the dental physician
• Give aftercare instructions to patients as instructed by the dentist
• Set up procedure trays as needed and maintain stock of dental supplies. Notify supervisor items in need of
replenishing.
• Ability to follow OSHA protocol in operatory and sterilization regulations
• Perform lab case management to include packaging, sending, and receiving lab cases
• Ensure that patient information is kept confidential, and that patient privacy is respected in accordance with current
Health Information Privacy and Portability Act guidelines

• Execute functions within the RDA scope of practice, including coronal polishing, sealant placement, and
temporary fabrication
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

You may be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. You will be required to travel within the
service area. You will regularly sit for long periods of time; spend extended time at a keyboard or telephone; and
interface with others effectively. You will be occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
