Carbon Composites Fabricator / Technician
Key Responsibilities:
Material Preparation and Layup: Cutting, laying up, and shaping carbon fiber and other composite materials according to specifications.
Tooling and Molds: Preparing molds and tooling for the composite fabrication process, potentially including custom tooling.
Curing and Finishing: Utilizing techniques like vacuum bagging, or other curing methods, followed by finishing processes such as trimming, bonding, and machining.
Documentation and Communication: Maintaining accurate records of work performed.
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience in building carbon composite structures for aerospace is ideal. Previous experience in boat or surfboard building and related skills can qualify. Proficiency in using various hand and power tools, reading technical drawings and specifications, and understanding composite material properties.
Material Knowledge:
Familiarity with different composite materials, resins, and curing methods.
