Table Games- Pit Manager

General Position Summary:

Supervises and coordinates the activities of the department and ensures it is in compliance with MICS, Tribal/State compact regulations, Appendix A, Ordinances, Internal Controls policies and Department procedures. Supervises the department to ensure they are operating efficiently and meet the needs of guests.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Shift Manager with training, counseling, and evaluating the department staff during assigned shift
  • Monitors dealers and players; maintaining card control and rotation, chip control and other elements of gaming integrity
  • Promotes Clearly Superior Customer Service
  • Assists the Shift Manager with responding to complaints, mediating disputes and providing professional and positive guest interactions
  • Evaluates performance of personnel and takes corrective action as necessary
  • Works with the Shift Manager in the completion of employee evaluations, performance improvement plans and procedural inconsistencies
  • Works with the department Management personnel to train and mentor dealers and dual rates for advancement
  • Works with the department Management to implement promotions
  • Reports to Shift Manager and department Manager on day-to-day operations

Secondary Functions:

  • Participates in employee recognition programs
  • Works with the front-line employees and management when schedule revisions are necessary to support the department’s business goals
  • Assists in interviewing and auditioning dealers
  • Other duties as deemed necessary

Specific Job Skills:

  • Ability to use personal computer and related software
  • Experienced in gaming operation and management
  • Knowledge in casino gaming, including rules, procedures and regulation of games, including game mix, protections and security
  • Experience in personnel management, hiring, disciplinary actions, performance reviews, training and staff development
  • Marketing and public relations experience
  • Leadership and team building experience
  • Strong supervisory skills, problem solving and negotiation skills

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or GED. A Bachelors degree in business preferred. One to three (1-3) years experience in all areas of department operations including supervisory experience desired.
