Job Description

We're looking for a full-charge Bookkeeper to join our team. As our future Bookkeeper, you will work on a portfolio of clients, while intimately getting to know them and their businesses. We focus on building relationships with clients – it helps us help them when we know them and their lives. We work primarily with Xero and QuickBooks Online, and all of our work is done in the cloud. Responsibilities:

• Record bank and credit card information in the general ledger via bank feeds in the accounting software
• Work with clients to obtain necessary information and supporting documents
• Accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Bank, credit card, and merchant account reconciliations
• Update work papers monthly/quarterly
• Create payroll journal entries
• Troubleshoot various software integrations (Xero, QBO, HubDoc, Expensify, Zapier, Shopify, Square, Stripe, etc.)
• Payroll oversight via Gusto, including working with clients regarding notices, new hires, and hourly payroll
• Sales Tax returns
• Keep client files organized digitally

Qualifications:

• Candidate must have a bachelor's degree in accounting or similar field
• Must possess exceptional communication, problem-solving, and time management skills
• Strong knowledge of QuickBooks, Excel, and basic accounting systems
• At least one year of bookkeeping experience in a public accounting or bookkeeping firm, managing multiple clients
• Ability to take ownership, while realizing when it’s time to reach out for help
• A love for technology and intuitive computer skills
